• While we can't all afford to get solar panels and a wind turbine installed we can purchase solar mobile phone/iPod rechargers, starting at £20 you never need buy power again for your communications.

• Lobby the government.  Why if they are going to railroad through plans to concrete over large chunks of East Anglia don't they at least make it so each home must have solar heating and a wind turbine?
  

Heat and the home

• Turn down the heating! Turning it down by 1'C can save you £60 a year and you'll hardly notice.

• Put a jacket on your boiler, fitting one at least 3"(75mm) thick will save you £20 per year for £10 cost!  If we all did this we could save £95 million

• Wear a jumper. Why fire the heating up to sit around in a t-shirt?

• Use lids! Not only does it all cook the same but you can turn the knobs and use less energy to cook your veg.
